In February 2026, Live DMA, Reset! network and the Syndicat des Musiques Actuelles (SMA) published new European ownership maps that make visible who owns which stages across the live music ecosystem, focusing on festivals, venues, and key assets along the value chain.
Representatives from music, media, publishing, and cinema met at the European Parliament on 2 September 2026, alongside policymakers working on culture (DG EAC), competition (DG COMP), and several CULT Committee members of the European Parliament.
Organised by Live DMA, Reset! network, the Syndicat des Musiques Actuelles (SMA) and hosted by MEP Emma Rafowicz, Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education and AgoraEU co-rapporteur, the event examined how ownership concentration affects cultural pluralism and aimed at identifying possible European responses.
In July 2026, Live DMA, Reset! network and 18 organisations from the cultural and creative sectors sent a joint letter to Commissioner Glenn Micallef to call for a strategic approach reflecting the specificities of the European cultural sectors across EU merger control and other areas of EU competition law.
