“It’s probably no surprise to hear that live music and the community they offer are very very important to us. Some of our earliest gigs in Brighton and London at venues like Green Door Store, The Hope and Ruin and The Windmill were vital for getting our name out there but more importantly letting us figure out what kind of band we wanted to be. Some of our earliest gigs were pretty bad, but these venues let us perform regardless as we clumsily “found our sound”. Not only this, but the social aspect to independent venues is also so incredibly important. I’ve met some of my best friends at music venues, mainly because they’re usually spaces where I can be myself and are (usually) full of people who I can get on with.”
