MusicAIRE aims to support actions within the music sector that contributes to a green, digital, just & resilient revival of the sector at a European level.
In 2022, one grant was launched to help the European music ecosystem grow and emerge from the COVID-19 crisis, the second grant is now out! MusicAIRE will fund projects with a total envelop of €2,2 million.
What?
The projects to be funded under MusicAIRE will need to provide recovery instruments for the music sector in times of COVID-19 in at least one of the three following thematic fields:
GREEN RECOVERY
>> reduce carbon footprint emissions
>> raise awareness and carry collective actions
DIGITAL RECOVERY
>> adapt to new emerging trends in the digital music context
>> special attention given to digital responsibility, ethical aspects and digital sobriety
JUST & RESILIENT RECOVERY
>> highlight the social value of music practices
>> guarantee fair working conditions and recognition in the music sector
Budget
The overall budget for this call is €1 335 000. It is expected that 29 projects will be funded.
MICRO PROJECTS

Requirements
- Mono-beneficiary application (single applicant, but projects can be with several partners)
- The project must demonstrate a European added-value (cooperation, upscaling, dissemination…)
- The project must begin on January 1st 2023, and last 10 months

Evaluation
A jury will evaluate the project based on relevance, project management and impact of your project. The artistic aspect of your project will not be subject to evaluation.
A call for the jury is open, with a deadline on 26 October 2022.
About MusicAIRE
MusicAIRE was developped by the European Music Council and Inova+, under the Music Moves Europe 2021 Preparatory Action dedicated to COVID recovery of the European music sector.
The projects selected through MusicAIRE will bring outcomes and resource for the European Music Council to draft policy recommendations and prepare a larger funding scheme for the music sector in Europe.

FAQ
All MusicAIRE projects are mono-beneficiary. This means that only one legal organisation will have to apply to the call, provide its administrative information and manage the budget. This does not mean that you cannot work with partners! Partners will have to sort out themselves how they want to organise.
The decision to have mono-beneficiary calls was taken to ease the applicants’ administrative burden of answering to this call.
European Added Value means that your project needs to have some sort of echo within the European live music sector and be beneficial to it. For example through trans-national collaboration. It can also be by up-scaling your project or result to disseminate it to other European live music professionals so they can discover, benefit, learn and get inspired from it.

The eligibility for MusicAIRE is the same as for Creative Europe. The list of Creative Europe countries includes EU and EFTA and EEA (Iceland, Norway, Armenia, Georgia, Kosovo, Turkey, Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Algeria, Morrocco, Tunisia, Israel, Palestine).
Switzerland and the UK are not eligible as applicants.
Yes, the call will need to be answered in English because MusicAIRE unfortunately does not have the capacity to manage a call in multiple languages.
Yes, it is possible. But keep in mind that the size of the consortium does not determine the size of the budget. Be realistic when it comes to the budget you have and how many partners you need to share it with.
Your project needs to answer to at least one of the three thematic fields of MusicAIRE. You can either choose to answer to one, or to answer to several in your project.
No, you can define your own target groups and audiences that you wish to reach with your project.
