OUR MEMBERS
Live DMA brings together 20 member organisations across 16 countries.
We recognize two types of membership: full members, which are established national or regional live music associations, and associate members, who are actively working to develop live music association structures in their respective regions.
Our members collectively represent over 3,000 live music organizations across Europe. While most are live music venues, our network also includes festivals and other related organizations. For a detailed overview of the organizations that make up Live DMA, explore our Inventory (2024).
Members
BECOME A MEMBER
Live DMA’s members are national associations that advocate for the interests of live music venues, clubs, and/or festivals.
Newly established national or regional live music associations that are not yet formally structured, as well as individual venues or live music institutions in countries without a representative association, are eligible to join Live DMA as associate members. An associate member will always aspire to become a full Live DMA member.
All members must adhere to Live DMA’s Ethics Charter.
Membership Benefits
- Governance & Representation – Gain voting rights at the General Assembly and actively shape Live DMA’s strategic direction (associate members do not have voting rights), while having your association represented by Live DMA in meetings with European Commission.
- Knowledge & Communication – stay informed through our internal newsletter on European actions, programs, policies, and member updates, and use internal communication tools to connect with other members, share challenges, and promote activities.
- Participation & Support – Take part in Live DMA activities, including working groups and the Survey, Live DMA’s data collection methodology with travel and accommodation covered for Live DMA meetings and activities.
- Networking & Recognition – Benefit from extensive networking opportunities within the Live DMA community and partners, and enjoy free or discounted accreditation for networking events and festivals.
Annual Membership Fee
The annual membership fee is structured into three levels based on the principles of solidarity and fairness, ensuring accessibility for members of different sizes and financial capacities. Fees are determined by:
- Number of staff (FTE) in the most recent closed financial year
- Overall budget (€) in the most recent closed financial year (excluding redistributed funds)
- Main source of income (%): membership fees, public funding, private funding, or activities
Membership Fee Levels
- Level 1 (€1,650/year) – For young members with limited structural capacity and/or primarily reliant on private funding.
- Level 2 (€2,000/year) – For young or medium-sized members with limited structural capacity but greater financial stability than Level 1.
- Level 3 (€2,300/year) – For members with strong structural and financial capacity.
- Associate Members (€600/year) – For organizations in the early stages of structuring a live music association.
Application Process
Live DMA is a close-knit network built on shared values and collaboration. The application process ensures alignment between your organization and our mission.
1 | Introductory Meetings: Meet with the Live DMA Board & Coordination Team to discuss your interests, challenges, and how they align with the network’s goals.
2 | Agreement with the Ethics Charter: Live DMA is a value-driven organization. By joining, you agree to uphold our Ethics Charter.
3 | Application Submission: Submit an application form and a motivation letter outlining your reasons for joining. Additional documents, such as legal statutes or activity reports, may be requested.
4 | Approval & Membership Confirmation: The Live DMA Board votes on new applications and determines the membership type (full or associate member). Once approved, the new member pays the adequate membership fee and can participate in network activities. Full voting rights are granted after a members confirmation vote at the General Assembly.
