  • How to Open a Grassroots Venue & How to Run a Grassroots Venue

    Published on 17 July 2019

Our member in the United Kingdom, Music Venue Trust has published two guides on how to open and run a Grassroots Venue. Grassroots venues share the same values and mission. Live music is their main purpose, and they often take a financial risk when presenting new talents. From local band support to renowned stages, the grassroots are the social gathering places where people can easily meet and enjoy a large range of artists.

These books provides insightful philosophical and practical advice on the good practices to bear in mind to open and run a live music venue. It is not written as an absolute guide to absolutely follow but rather presents useful perspectives on how to open and preserve a successful grassroots venue, from experienced venue owners. These advice are divided into thematical chapters and are punctuated by interviews of various grassroots venue owners in the UK.
